About Us

CW Custom Builders, LLC was formed in 1999 with the partnership of Patrick Cherko, Wade Lupe and William Smart. All three partners brought unique construction knowledge from their various backgrounds in engineering, general contracting and plumbing. CW first started their home building venture with a hand full of homes located in Clifton Park, NY.  Quickly after completing those various homes, CW ventured into their first large new construction development in Niskayuna, NY. This project was developed and created in 2000, which consisted of 68 townhome units called Hummingbird Manor. (Pictured Above) Hummingbird Manor was only the first stepping stone for CW Custom Builders, LLC. While completing Hummingbird Manor, CW ventured out and started two other developments in the Capital District. The first of which was Country Walk Estates located in Rotterdam, NY and the second being Lake Meadows in North Greenbush, NY. Country Walk Estates is a single family home development consisting of 33 homes constructed between 2003 and 2005. Country Walk Estates consists of homes varying in size from 1,865 square feet to 3,019 square feet. Lake Meadows in North Greenbush was developed shortly after the start of Country Walk Estates in 2004. Lake Meadows is set in the hills of North Greenbush, NY over looking Snyder’s Lake. CW quickly sold and built over 15 homes in the first phase of Lake Meadows during 2005. While finishing Hummingbird Manor and constructing numerous homes in both Country Walk Estates and Lake Meadows, CW branched out to build in Perth, NY, Johnstown, NY and Guilderland, NY. Meadow View in Perth, NY was started in 2005 and completed in 2006. This six lot subdivision consisted of all single family homes ranging from 1,865 square feet to 2,470 square feet.  Hunters Green in Johnstown, NY began in 2005 and is still being constructed with only four out of the twelve lots still available for sale. CW had various sales in the year of 2005, but then saw a slow in sales during the year of 2006. This prompted CW to change its entire model lineup for Hunters Green. The adaption of multiple raised ranch home plans produced four home sales. Vosburgh Road in Guilderland, NY consisted of three premium home sites with three spacious and unique home plans. All three of the constructed homes were over 3,000 in square feet and included a number of interior upgrades.

In 2007, CW started to develop and build two multi unit home sites, which are located in Kingsbury, NY and Schenectady, NY. Kings Quarters development is located in Kingsbury, NY and consists of 351 townhome units. This development is in a prime location for all types of activities whether it’s visiting local lakes in the summer to local ski resorts in the winter. Three model units have been constructed and 3 other units are under construction. Infrastructure has been installed for the first phase to support 63 units. CW is looking towards the future of Kings Quarters and the great potential it holds for the upcoming years. Maxon Pointe Development in Schenectady, NY is a 45 unit townhome community. All of the units in Maxon Pointe are one floor ranch layouts. Two model units have been built and sold and 4 other sold units are under construction. Infrastructure for the project has been installed and buyer interest seems strong.

In all CW has closed on more than 180 units since 2000. CW is proud of its history of successfully completing projects and leaving behind satisfied buyers.
